Anti-bribery management system ISO 37001

ISO 37001 is an international standard designed to help organizations implement an anti-bribery management system. Its purpose is to support companies in preventing, detecting, and reducing risks related to bribery and corruption.

The standard can be easily integrated into an existing management system because it follows the same structure as other ISO standards, such as ISO 9001. This makes it possible to align anti-bribery measures with already established business processes.

ISO 37001 addresses two main types of bribery risks:

  • bribery involving the organization, its employees, or business partners for the benefit of third parties;

  • bribery committed by the organization, its employees, or business partners for the benefit of the organization itself.

The standard requires organizations to implement a set of measures aimed at preventing, detecting, and addressing bribery.

Key measures under ISO 37001

The main requirements of the standard include:

  • development and implement ation of an anti-bribery policy;

  • assessment of bribery risks and implementation of appropriate control measures, including in projects and procurement;

  • due diligence of business partners;

  • employee training and monitoring of compliance with established requirements;

  • implementation of financial and non-financial controls;

  • establishment of reporting and investigation procedures;

  • corrective actions and continual improvement of the system.

Benefits of implementing ISO 37001

Operating in accordance with ISO 37001 provides a company with a number of important benefits:

  • greater transparency of the management system;

  • improved business reputation;

  • increased confidence from local and foreign investors;

  • enhanced competitiveness;

  • reduced bribery-related risks;

  • demonstration of compliance with applicable legal and anti-bribery requirements;

  • greater assurance that suppliers and subcontractors apply good anti-corruption practices.
